A Proper Hello

I wanted to formally welcome you all to the Micole Creative Studios blog, a new channel I’m excited to get up and running on our website so we can connect deeper with our community, share company news, and talk all things creativity. Blogging is a passion of mine (cough* Product of the Nineties) so I’m hype to get back to writing because sometimes only words can do the trick!

If you’re new here; I’m Tannis Spencer and I’m the founder, executive producer, and creative director of Micole Creative Studios. I started MCS in late 2019/early 2020 after working in Corporate America for some of the biggest and most exciting brands in the world like Complex, MTV, and Foot Locker Inc. After 10+ years of really formative work I decided I had the tools, ideas, and energy to start my company — and what a ride the last 3 years have been. MCS continues to grow beyond anything I initially conceived and I love it.

There aren’t very many Black women in the production space, let alone those in a position of power, so I take my role, visibility, and voice in the space very seriously. My goal is to continue to tell meaningful stories crafted by and about communities of color. It’s a mission that’s on my heart.

To my early MCS supporters, thank you for the love and belief in us. For those just joining us, welcome! Stick around as me and the squad build something incredible.
